Mini makes the SA flag mobile

Mini South Africa has launched a colourful campaign to build national spirit in what they called "the year of the fan".  The campaign, called "Six Colours To Stand By", is the company's way of encouraging South Africans to proudly fly the country’s flag on their cars. Mini is offering South African flag "mirror socks" to everyone keen to raise the flag on the roads of South Africa … at no charge!

"We spent a long time looking at how we could successfully design a campaign around one pure emotion - passion," said Karen Valle, general manager of Mini South Africa. "We eventually found the answer looking at quintessential local flavour: it simply had to be the six colours of our flag.” 

The mirror socks are made of an elastic fabric that can be stretched over a car’s wing mirrors and have been designed to fit any make or model. When MINI started their compaign, the covers were so popular that they ran out of them within a couple of weeks. Mini is now waiting for a new batch of mirror flags to hit our shores in May. For any imformation, the public is encouraged to contact any Mini dealership and leave their details so as they can be contacted the minute the flag covers are available again.
